Spring Break

I had a wonderful Spring Break with my two Bryans! It was so much fun getting to spend each day (except the two days Grandma watched him so we could paint) playing with little b. I really miss a lot when I'm at work. He has entered into a new independant stage. He wants to do everything for himself and gets so frustrated when things don't work out the way he wants. His solution: screech at the top of your lungs until someone does it for you. Not his most endearing quality, but fun none the less.

Things that frustrate a 14 month old...

1. When a circle shape does not fit into a star hole no matter how hard you try to jam it in.

2. When Mommy will not let you play in the DVD's, her purse, or the dog's food and water.

3. When you cannot pull your socks off.

4. When you throw your toys on the floor one thousand times and Daddy will not let you have them back.

5. When you are not allowed to feed the dog all of your dinner and only eat bread.

Things that frustate Mommy...

1. 14 month olds.

Happy St. Paddy's Day!

It took awhile to get a good picture. I can't imagine why he wouldn't want this moment photographed.

Tricks

Bryan is working late so I spent an hour trying to get all of little b's "tricks" on tape. He of course would not cooperate, so this was the best I could do.

Let me tell you 'bout my best friend...

Man's best friend has become Bryan's best friend. Our 105 pound German Shephard is the highlight of Bryan's day, every day. Bruce lets Bryan climb all over him, stick his hands in his mouth, hug, and kiss him. Everything Bruce does is hilarious and he gets all of Bryan's best kisses. Is it wrong to be jealous of a dog? Soon after Bryan learned the word ball, he learned dog. This is what he wakes up saying (yelling) most mornings until his four legged friend makes his way into b's room. Maybe one day he'll love his mommy as much as he loves his Brucie.

We took this a few months ago but it still makes me laugh every time I see it.

A Year in Review

January 21, 2009 - 7 lbs. 3 oz. - 20 in. - 2:27 pm

February 2009
Bryan took his plane first trip to Chicago.
He went on his first road trip to Spearman, TX.
He celebrated his first Valentine's day by buying his mom a rose and sleeping through a movie.
He celebrated his first St. Patrick's Day by posing for pictures with a bottle full of green milk. (So began a long line of embarrassing photos).

March 2009
Bryan celebrated my 25th birthday by giving me flowers and earrings.
I went back to work and Bryan stayed with Grandma during the day.
Bryan learned how to smile. He still has the best smile!

April 2009
Bryan celebrated his first Easter (he had only 3 outfits to wear).
He started giggling.
Bryan starred in his Grandma's commercial.

May 2009
Bryan started eating rice cereal. He's been successfully eating everything ever since.
Cinco de Mayo and Mother's Day
Bryan started scooting around making me think every day that he was going to roll over.

June 2009
Bryan started on vegetables and could hold his own bottle.
Bryan was baptized by Father Brankin.
He celebrated Father's day with his Daddy.
Bryan started bringing dinner to his Dad on Sundays. He loved playing in the squad car.
He swam almost every day in Grandma's pool and LOVED the water.

July 2009
Bryan FINALLY rolled over.
He celebrated the 4th of July and was rivetted by the fireworks.

August 2009
Bryan began to sit up by himself.
He celebrated Daddy's birthday.
He started going to day care. I had a rough time but he loves his teacher, Mrs. Linda.
Bryan got his first tooth, quickly followed by 3 more.
His grandfather left for Greece. Bryan now knows how to skype and does so all the time.
Bryan learned how to wave. It didn't last long. He now refuses to wave. If you tell him, he puts his hand to his ear as if he's answering the phone. He's so tech savvy.

September 2009
Bryan said "ball!"
He started clapping.

October 2009
Bryan dressed up as a matador for Halloween. He was the cutest bull fighter ever!
He started an army crawl that I was sure he would quickly grow out of. HA!
Bryan was no longer fooled by baby food and gave it up altogether.

November 2009
Bryan eats like a big boy off the school menu.
He celebrated his first Thanksgiving by eating everything and taking what may be the best black mail pictures ever.
Bryan started pulling up to his knees.

December 2009
Bryan's first Christmas and snow!
He screamed during his visit with Santa. Santa is the only person Bryan has ever cried with.
He began pulling up to his feet.

January 2010
Bryan celebrated his first birthday with a police themed party that took all of my creativity to pull off.
His Great Uncle JJ and Great Aunt Sam drove all the way from Chicago to come to his party.
We got to skype with his Grandfather in Greece so that he could sing Happy Birthday. Bryan barely got any icing on himself. Success!
We felt extremely blessed to have such a loving group of family and friends. We are SO lucky!

Trying New Things

I have finally come to realize that 1. I am not capable of keeping up with a baby book and 2. photo albums on facebook do not a baby book make. Therefore, I have decided to create a blog to share all of the important Burch happenings and to keep up with little b, who let's face it, is the only really important "Burch happening" at the moment.

So sit back and enjoy!
